This reminds me of American cars in the past.  There
was a time when the manufacturer would practicaaly
take the option sticker on the rear window and put it
on the back of the car in chrome letters; ie, V6,
turbocharged, fuel injection, etc, etc.

Canon L lenses do not have "aspherical" or "UD" glass
printed on them.
