I would be curious to know which of the consumer lenses are (nearly) as sharp as L series. Is there a comparison or test data somewhere?
Here's something to consider. With color neg film, half a stop of underexposure will do more to compromise overall image quality than almost anything the lens contributes. While I like optical excellence as much as the next fellow I wonder how many of us could improve our images with a little attention to detail exposure-wise?
