Buy a carbon 'pod or bring lots of money and don't get them wet, don't expose them to moisture, don't sit on them, don't drop them, don't expect them to support much weight like a modern AF body/booster with a moderate tele mounted like a 300 2.8 and don't expect them to offer any modern features. Of course this is only going to be true if you can find one that you didn't make or have make for you in which case see my first comment.
