So what do you think is the difference, that consumer cameras can't AF at f8? Better CMOS? Or have they crippled lesser cameras to sell the Pro models?
If a higher ticket product has more features, that doesn't mean the lesser version is "crippled," it means the higher ticket item has higher-ticket stuff. My Honda Accord EX has leather seats, but the base DX model doesn't. It's not "crippled," it has a lower feature-set.
And -- how many Rebel 2000 buyers REALLY need AF at a max effective aperture of f/8 anyway?
