Gerard, I use a a transparent plastic sheet for my PDA, and I settled on it specifically because they look quite clear and sharp (when reading the small type, you want your plastic cover to be clear, not matt).
I got to try one since the local shop here opened one pack for me so that I could try it out (here being Bangalore, India). I would suggest you do the same.
