Subject: EOS Err 99 message on 10D when using Sigma lens

snip

Is this possibly a sign that the lens needs to be re-chipped? If so, will
Sigma re-chip a lens for me, even if I am not the original owner? Or is
this a sign that the lens is bad? :( Or a sign of operator error?

Thanks,

Pattie

Pattie,

Sigma's website has (certainly had) a listing of which lenses can be rechipped.
I've just had my 17-35 done for my 10D. But my 500 f7.2 APO is too old.
