On the other hand, they also have low standards for copyright fees. I
just negotiated with a local tourist board, and they felt my photos are
too expensive for them. They expected me to do a lot of photos for them
and they would pay only 80.- EUR for each photo. And they wanted to use
the photos for catalogues, internet, advertising campaigns etc. IMHO
such a price is unacceptable.

But thats a point that would really interest me - even if it is off
topic. Is there anybody on the list who would like to share his/her
experiences with me concerning copyright fees etc.? To avoid off topic

I know what you mean. I use a Nikon Coolscan IV, and Im quite happy
with the results, and so are my clients. Lots of my scanned photos have
been published since I use this scanner and I have no complaints about
image quality.

Sometimes I print a image on my HP 720C deskjet on photo quality inkjet
paper (Tetenal 260gr. Glossy). The results are much better than the
prints I get from my photo shop around the corner. BTW: all the images
on my website www.mountains-and-more.de are scanned with the Coolscan.
I did no color corrections, only slightly unsharp mask, as you lose
sharpness when reducing image size.

But still, you have to do the scanning work. Therefore, a 10D would be
the better choice, IMHO. Im still waiting to get back some taxes, and
I think I will get a 10D for the money. Or a 24-70/28? Ah, I dont know
how to decide...

Best regards,
Marco
