Hi Chris,
I have the 100 f2.8 USM macro and use it on my 10D. A short time ago I was
sufficiently worried about barrel distortion with this lens that I did a
specific test on subjects effectively at infinity.  (I assume that being a
macro, it will be fine in the close-up range, and I'm not in to snapping postage
stamps.)  Well, the test didn't show any distortion, so I suppose the manor
house which originally raised my worries must have a distorted roof line!
However, it's a bit strange that I can see the effect clearly on screen, but not
in reality when I re-visited the house for a check.
I don't have the 50 f1.4.
