I just received the MPE65 Canon lens and had a question about using it with a focusing rail. The lens has a tripod collar, but my focusing rail is designed to accept a camera body, in that the clamp for the QR is oriented horizontal to the rail and can not be rotated. Is there any danger in using the lens without the tripod collar, just mounted to the camera, in terms of damage to the lens mount (I realize that I would lose the conveneience of rotating to a verticle composition). The lens does not feel like it should be heavy enough to cause any problem with the camera lens mount (EOS 1-V)
