I work for a stock photo agency as a photo editor, so maybe I can help you a little. To be honest, there is no standard fee for a sold photo. Although some stock agencies offer flat rates to some clients... The coyright fee depends on several criteria: - what kind of use: editorial or commercial (advertisements). - How many copies are printed (magazine, book, advertisement) - what size the photo is printed - in which country the photo is used (Different countries = different prices) Then there are some special rules: used as a cover, used in more than one country, used worldwide, etc. etc. I got a book called "Stock Photo Fees and Terms of Business in Europe". I list some examples they give for the Netherlands: Advertisement: Print run up to 50.000 and 1/4 page size = 424 � The same with 1/1 page size = 563 � Magazine: Print run up to 50.000 and 1/4 page size = 110 � The same with 1/1 page size = 308 � Internet editorial use 1 month international dissemination = 106 � Internet commercial use 1 month international dissemination = 212 � If you want to have the complete list for the Netherlands, I could scan it for you. But be careful, prices differ from country to country. And at the moment, as business is down in a lot of countries, clients try to negotiate prices and you might get not the price that ist proposed in the price lists. Hope this helps.
