Although I, personally , would not buy one, the 3000 series of cameras are
very popular. The 300 even more so. This must, in part, be due to their low
price. Even the 30 at around 480 (GBP in the UK and USD in the USA),
including a lens, is still fairly inexpensive.

If we regard the 300D as an entry level, however, I do wonder at Canon's
expected sales of 70000 per month. Quoted in the 6 September issue of
Amateur Photographer.

I am sure that it will sell well, but the people who buy 3000s and 300s are
unlikely to spend upwards of GBP 1000, including a CF card. The battery grip
adds even more. This is more than for an EOS3 with PB-E2.
Chris Evans has ordered one, but as a long-time member of this list he is
hardly entry level.

Will I buy one? Well, not yet as I am currently job-hunting.
But, afterwards ?????

And, why, why, why did they have to make it silver!

Cheers

Keith
