I've done it. Most of times pictures are all right. Some conditions, very contrasty objects for exeple , produce the color fringing. I've shooted hundreds of pictures with the 16-35mm and the 14mm and very few shoots showed the fringing so that in my daily use this is not a big issue. Only a 28mm Nikkor PC, Canon has not such a lens in their stable, used with adapter, produced big fringing probably caused by a extreme decentring. The EOS 1Ds, and this has to be said very clearly, is wide and even extreme wide usable camera. Be so kind to have look at http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=335239 and tell me please if you can find any defect concerning the use of extreme wides. The only true defect of this camera, excepting the so frequent cleaning sensor necessity, is its outrageous price.
