1 TTL Hot Shoe Adapter 2 (or 3) 2 Off Camera Shoe(s) 2 Connecting Cord 300(s) (or 60) 1 TTL Distributor
This couldn't be more flexible.
1 flash on-camera - use nothing
2 flashes 1-on-camera, 1-off use TTL HSA + OCS + 1 Connecting Cord
2 flashes both off-camera add another OCS + TTL Distributor and 2 more connecting cords.
3 flashes 1-on-camera 1-off
3 flashes all off-camera add another OCS and another Connecting Cord
4 flashes 1-on-camera 3-off - same setup as above
The flashes can be as far away as 10 meters (30 feet) from the camera (actually 20 meters as the cord to the TTL Distributor adds 10 meters) or you could use the Connecting Cord 60's (which are coiled) for using flashes close-in (like in your hand or on a bracket).
I'd say anything farther than this and you'd be much better off investing in some EX flashes that support wireless.
The only thing that is unfortunate is that this set-up does not support ETTL or the digital EOS models. Truly a shame.

What is your goal? Maybe there is a better way to do this?
My goal is to have a flexible system for an 1 or 2 flash setup, with as less components as possible.
