A holiday (US) couple of lens questions: I have a few years old 100-400mm 4.5-5.6 L IS. S/N 212XXX. I use it every week and it has served me quite well for the past 3 years. Now the auto-focus seems to be searching a bit. Not coarsely, It looks fine throught the finder but just enough to lose the sharp images I was used to. When I try to go to manual focus the ring is exceedingly stiff. If I shut the camera off, remove the lens and excercise the adjusting ring, it usually loosens up after a few brisk turns and some coarse language. The IS always works great, except when I forget to turn it on... The lens has never been dropped or damaged. It's very clean and well cared for. Any idea of what's happening and where do I go from here?? I dred having to ship it off to who knows where for who knows how much $. Happy Memorial Day to all Veterans, whereever!!
