Hi Marc,

On every example I've seen the front element
has been quite wobbly at 28mm and firms up and
becomes less so as it's zoomed to 135mm. I've
also found the image quality to be reasonably
good.  I don't own a 24/28-70L to compare it
to, but I do own two L Zooms (16-35, 70-200IS)
and two L primes (135 & 200).  

Maybe I just got a good copy??

I must admit though, I'd like to see an update
with a bit wider short end (even at the expense
of the long end) and IS like the 70-300 DO has.
