I've certainly seen mention of sample variation on various forums, not
convinced though. I've also never been 100% convinved that the IS is doing
anything either! I heard mention of it taking up to a second to start working
on this lens, I've also never noticed the image moving around in the
viewfinder. I can however feel the slight vibration in the lens body which I
assume is it doing it's stuff...
