Here are another two:

1. I used to have make one trip to drop off the film for processing, second
on to pick up the processed material, third trip to drop off the film for
the selected ones for enlargement, and a fourth trip to pick up the
enlargement. After getting the DSLR a month ago, I now can upload the
files directly and only make ONE trip to pick up the enlargement. At 50 Km
and 45 minutes each way from home to the lab, it's a heck of saving in time.

2. In this days and age when everyone wants to see the results NOW, it's
hard to compete with photographers who have DSLR and can show off their
work to the potential client to make a sale right then and right there.

Then there's always the "WOW, look at this new toy !!" factor, but that's
neither logical nor rational reasons....

Regards,

Ken
