Picked up my body this afternoon (didn't have to buy the kit version!), and after an hour of playing with it:
* AF is MUCH better in low light than the 10D, not enough time to really have a feel for speed yet * Instant on (0.2 sec) is COOL. Jim Davis will now be able to get more than 50 shots per battery! * The finger grip is 1/3 to 1/2 cm deeper fron to back, better for longer fingers. * when sitting side by side, it's clear that the 20D is smaller than the 10D, but in use it doesn't feel smaller to me. * 800 ISO looks VERY nice. And that's with a large JPG and no processing with CS, Noise Ninja, etc. I have bog expectations for improvement night sports' picture quality. * the charger has no cord, looks similar to the old one but has fold out prongs. Nice, but I might miss the cord travelling. * the body has an even more rough texture than the 10D did compared to the D60/30. * much more squarish design elements, 20D to 10D is much like EOS 3 to Eos 1 series. * I think the diopter adjustment is more exposed to accidental changes on the 20D * without a grip, which won't be here until Tuesday, the 20D rocks sitting flat on a hard surface, very odd, maybe mine is warped. * Did I mention AF is MUCH better in low light. Very much closer to my EOS 3. Tomorrow, I'll try it out in daylight.
