I shoot raw almost exclusively but just wait in three years when Adobe changes their raw file structure and then in two more when Photoshop won't read the old RAW structure and people end up with 300 gigs of RAW files that are no longer supported by any software/computer combination and realize they have to keep a legacy computer just to view their old files or hire somebody to open them and translate them to some new format. The day will arrive, it's just a matter of time. With a bit more than a terabyte of data, file format support into the future is one of my biggest concerns.

RAW, at least to my understanding
(anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), is not a pixel format in
the same sense as JPG or any of the other formats, but rather a big
chunk of data. Which makes it a unique file and thereby, more secure.
