I looked into this a while back when I was thinking about getting a new flash to go with the 300D, there are 4 variants of the Sigma 500, the EF 500 ST, the EF 500 Super, the EF 500 DG ST and the EF 500 DG Super, the latter 2 support E-TTL which is needed for TTL flash metering with Canon digital cameras. IIRC the non DG models can do Auto mode where the sensor on the flash is used for metering but this only really works well and reliably if the camera is in manual mode. -- Visit our website at www.roke.co.uk Roke Manor Research Ltd, Roke Manor, Romsey, Hampshire SO51 0ZN, UK.
