Not often one gets a chance to correct WJM....., so I am taking advantage quickly :-) I do believe 1D and 1Ds are CCD while 1D Mk II and 1Ds Mk II are CMOS, hence the significantly lower power consumption for the 1D/1Ds Mk II, I'm still amazed at easily over 1,000 shots per batter charge even with the EF100-400 lens with the IS on being used and on 8.5 frames/second.
