Ron, the button to pop up the build-in flash is to the right of the lens mount ring (when looking at the front of the body), just above the lens release button: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos10d/page2.asp Is this the button you are trying to press? The popup flash will open easily by just pulling it up gently holding it with a finger on each side of "prism" area. Lars -- .~.
