Re: EOS Black or dark band at photograph side

Here's a webpage that shows how to replace the rubber shutter bumper,
which is definitely your problem:

I had already found this excellent link in your message of 4/8/03
"Re:Re: EOS Shutter Problems"
(http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg20782.html) and from it I found
the "New EOS shutter curtain damper exchanging method"
(http://www.geocities.jp/msawa1919/eos/eos003.htm) and an "EOS shutter oil
dirty simple check method"
(http://userwww.aimnet.ne.jp/user/msawa/sawada/eos/eos001.htm), both quite
interesting and that I translated from Japanese following the advice in
your message of 4/8/03.

However, the problem is already obvious (see my former message)
and the solution too difficult for me in addition to the need to get the
new dampers, anyway. However, I am fully committed to have it fixed and
shall inform of the results in this mail list.

Concerning the flash failures, the problem did not show up a
single time in the eight tests carried out last Friday using either the
built-in flash or the 430EZ.
