Looks like I was right about the iPod Photo.

From "The New York Times:"

"There are, however, two catches. Conventional iPods cannot display photos, and even with the new iPod Photo, which has a color screen and was designed with photos in mind, you cannot actually look at the downloaded pictures until they have been transferred to a computer, processed, and transferred back to the iPod Photo."
