I just won a really nice used EF 70-200mm 2.8 L non-IS lens on ebay. The previous owner was a sports photographer and the silver lens mount looks a little worn and scratched up (the seller stated this and had a picture). I called Canon parts and they told me there are something like 8-10 DIFFERENT versions with baseplate thicknesses running from 1.5mm to 2.8mm. I would have measure my current one with a micrometer.
