Hi there, I plan to buy a used Sigma 70-200 f2.8 APO HSM at USD400 for my EOS50. Anyone out there can give me your recommendations about this lens ? Is it fully compatible? Thanks. Trang Nguyen
Sigma has to rechip lenses at various times in order to get them to work properly since they don't license any of the protocols, therefore it may work great with a new Canon but not with an older one or visa versa. I would check with Sigma to find out if they believe it will work with any Canon model or what the rechipping would cost if you get one that does not work with that particular body. I don't have any direct experience with Sigma lenses so this is just my understanding. Feel free to correct me, anyone with the specific facts.
