According to the Taiwanese site, it says:

- The Tokina feels compact in size, similar to the Nikkor in size, where the
Sigma was designed for both 35mm and D-SLR and therefore is larger in size.

- The Tokina gives a feeling of solidness (i.e. good build quality), feels
better than the Nikkor, zoom ring feels a bit tight, the push/pull
auto/manual focusing switching is not quite as good as FTM.

- Nikkor AF speed is much faster, Sigma has the closest focusing distance of
28 cm, and is the only 12-24 mm zoom lens that can be used with 35mm camera,
Tokina has the largest lotus flower like lens shade.

- Scoring comparison:
  - handling : Nikkor > Sigma > Tokina
  - corner darkness (vigenetting): Nikkor > Tokina > Sigma ( > means
better, not greater)
  - image quality: Nikkor = Tokina > Sigma (again > meaning better)
  - barrel distortion: Sigma > Nikkor = Tokina ( > means better)
  - value (bang for the buck): Sigma = Tokina > Nikkor ( > means better in
this context)

Some further discussion by a 20D user indicated that maximum aperture
performance is pretty good, very sharp, but has some purple fringing, poor
flare characteristic, but is better than the EF18-55.
