But the Nikon 8xxx-series is not what I would call 'compact'....it's 
just one more hybrid-size....nice if you want to have good hand grip, 
but bad if you want to quickly stuff it in in your jacket....;((


I would *gladly* give up any zoom function for a max thickness of 3-
4cm....
Not to mention IS of course.

We need optical engineers, not gadgeteers....;((
