One potential problem is that Fd mount has a shorter image distance than EOS which means a lens element is necessary for focusing at infinity. I think there are mounts like that at the auction site. Best bet is still getting a Nikon or Tamron T-mount. I tried several Nikon lenses on my D20 without any problem.
