Which is sort of what I feared. I see that on some other threads there was
a suggestion that he was "leaned on" to only use the new lens, but then it's
clear that he was using the 100-400L zoom as well. Pity that he couldn't
have included some shots taken with, say, the EF 50 f1.4 (at f5.6 or f8, on
a tripod etc.) which Canon show in their "White Paper" on the 5D.
I'm definitely interested as I've bought two lenses in the last two years to
help with my 10D's 1.6x crop factor. My EF20 f2.8 works very well, and is
equiv to 32mm on full frame, but it's a big lens compared to my 35 f2. I've
also got the much smaller EF 24 f2.8 (a low cost "manager's bargain" at £90
from local Jessops), and a short time ago I had a session using both lenses
on film. I was very pleased with the results. Contrast was high, drawing
was fine, even on buildings, and it was good to see the world again through
wide-angle eyes. How they will perform for CA at the edges of a FF sensor
I've no idea.
