I haven't checked into using other makers' lenses on EOS cameras but
generally I thought infinity focus was lost. Perhaps there is a place
then for the odd other maker lens. I could use a Pentax 15mm like that
too. Is that a Pentax screw mount lens? Oh, the model indicates a K
mount which is likely not the old screw mount I'm thinking of...

As to the 85/1.8 - I sold mine but did not find it lacking except
yes, perhaps the manual focus ring could have been better, I do not
feel it hindering other than in the photographer's mind. I also
appreciate a nice feeling of MF ring, but haven't really lost a shot
because of a sloppy one. It kind of comes with many EOS lenses, 50/1.4
much the same. The 28-135 I so often use ditto. Oh well, can't have
everything, I don't that often manually focus and I'm always able to
no matter how sloppy.

Can anyone tell me what the MF ring on the 17- 40 f4 L feels like?
