According to Canon, DO is supposed to be "higher-end" than the L-series lenses. This is definitely true with the 400/4 DO. Keep in mind that the 400/4 also contains a UD/Super UD/Flourite (don't remember which one off the top of my head) element as well. >How effective is DO thing? Gimmick? It's effective in reducing the size and weight of the lens. The DO element does strange things to the bokeh on the 70-300 however. It's a good travel zoom lens and is a reasonable alternative to the 100-400 on a digital camera. -- John Chennavasin | This article contains material which may inform and [EMAIL PROTECTED] | may be quoted, printed, forwarded, or redistributed www.fobpro.com | as long as the original attribution remains intact. * **** ******* *********************************************************** * For list instructions, including unsubscribe, see: * http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm ***********************************************************
