Any takers for the 5D ?
I ordered mine on August 25th.
I can pay for it, but as soon as I have it many of my lenses become
invalid, and I can't afford to upgrade them. Nor can I afford the money
I'm going to need for disk space. I don't own a single EF-S lens, but
almost all the lenses I have are extra wide to accomodate the cropping
factor. What on earth am I going to do with a 20mm f/2.8 prime on a
body with a full frame sensor?
I'm guessing I'll need to replace my 24-70L with something less wide and
a little longer to be happy, and now suddenly that 85mm f/1.2L looks
like a really good lens (it seemed silly on a 1.6 cropped body when fast
50mm primes are easy to come by). My 100-400 zoom is probably far more
useful at the "short" end now, but I'll miss the long end now. I may
end up needing a 1.4 tele-extender for it. It will probably be March or
April before I can buy new lenses though.
You can probably find enough takers on some of your lenses, particularly the
24-70L, to finance purchases of lenses like the 24-105 f4L, but you might
find yourself quite satisfied with the lens you have. We're buying a 70-200
f2.8L to fill the need for something longer, once we get our 5Ds, but that's
about it.
My 100-400 was long enough with film, I should get used to it again...
