Optical performance is good, problem is the AF motor sometimes does not move and sometimes makes a sound as if it's stuck or lacks lubricant (I own a 1v); maybe that's the problem in my lens
Focusing manually on this wide settings is quite hard (for me at least) We'll have to live with it and learn to be creative regardless of the lens stubbornness' By the way, I'll be taking some pictures in the Mexican (Oaxaca) markets tomorrow and I think I will use the lens, I'll let you know if I find anything spooky (In the lens, in those markets... for sure :) Regards Patricio DueƱas --------------------------------------------------- Hi Patricio, Thanks for your suggestion. I've just given it a try on my EOS3, but whilst I can focus it manually, it stubbornly refuses to work automatically. Trying it has reminded me, again, as to why I bought it some years ago - 17 on full frame is w i d e. Guess I'll send it off to Sigma UK again. When I last used it (after having my EOS10D "calibrated") its performance was excellent. After the drop test repair, and prior to the "calibration" on my 10D (By Lehmanns in Stoke-on-Trent), it was lousy! There's a couple of images on my website showing the well known "problem" on the right hand side - these were taken before the big drop test. * **** ******* *********************************************************** * For list instructions, including unsubscribe, see: * http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm ***********************************************************
