Yeah, that's the one I've got. I never thought of mounting it to the camera
because it's pretty big for that. You can see in the photo in that link that
the flash and the softbox ring are mounted on a swivel and that swivel is
meant to be mounted on a light stand.

But I guess you could put something in that bottom mount that would fit into
a hot shoe. I've not seen that particular adapter but I'm sure someone makes
it.

In that particular situation I would suggest a light on a monopod or stand
held off to an angle or up high (an assistant still helps). You'll still get
hard light but it won't look like ON-CAMERA hard light.

I was thinking of something like the photoflex softboxes as they have an
xs one which I can attach to the camera and is therefore very portable.
I'm thinking along the lines of location portraiture and the possibility
of not having an assistant so moving around quickly could be a bit of a
drawback to using an umbrella and lightstands.  I was wondering if
anyone was using one of these or an alternative.
