As someone once responsible for the safe handling and charging of Li-Ion
cells in a military avionics environment, I offer my congatulations in
getting yourself out of a hole.
However, before others rush to follow with other combinations of charger and
battery, be aware that over-charging Li batteries may result in explosion
and a lithium metal fire. These are incredibly difficult to extinguish,
even with specialised fire extinguishers. (Nikon are still recalling some
of their Li-Ion cells because of safety concerns.)
