Welcome!

Ever thought of using a mono-pod ? I use one quite a bit when shooting my
amateur video. It helps keeping the strain off my arms and shoulders.
After wasting money on relatively heavy mono-pods (which are sturdy but tend
to stay at home), I found quite a lightweight one from Jessops (in the UK),
but I expect it'll be available, under a different label, in your part of
the world. That could save you wasting money on selling your 70-200 f4L
which has an excellent reputation for sharpness etc. If you like it, you
can always buy a heavier model.
(Or you could try raising the ISO on your 300D. You'd get shorter shutter
speeds, and less evidence of shake.)
