A friend is looking to buy a digital video camera, is there a web site similar to www.dpreview.com with (fairly) un-biased reviews for digital video cameras? Any other suggestions welcomed. Thanks Ken ______________________________ Hi, Your friend could try the following: www.simplydv.co.uk UK based site www.camcorderinfo.com US based site Both sites have reviews and bulletin boards. I've learnt much from both of them. (There's probably more.) It's perhaps worth mentioning that at the moment, domestic video is in a state of flux as the "traditional" way of recording to tape of one sort or another is being replaced/supplemented by recording direct to either small format DVDs, or capturing the video on a small hard drive. Depending on the needs, convenience, editing, quality, etc. there's different choices for different end requirements, as (lossy) compression has to be used on route to the DVD. If flexibility and quality is a requirement, the MiniDV tape route still has much to recommend it.
