Most of the commercial and wedding photographers do not use F2.8 often. The reason they buy the F2.8 L lenses, is that they are better at all apertures that others. Many I know have opted for the 70-200mm F4 as they like the smaller size and it works very well handheld or on a tripod. What is missing is IS. So if you need slower shutter speeds, or F2.8, then you have mo choice.
