OK, I am looking to augment/overhaul my lens kit. I am shooting with an
EOS 3 and am planning to purchase a 5D. I have a 28-105mm IS that I
have used as my general-purpose and travel lens. I had decided to sell
it and procure the 24-105mm f/4L IS, but then I started thinking...and
that is where the trouble started.

I also want to add the17-40mm f/4L and I am strongly considering the
70-200mm f/2.8L IS. Buying all three is a little expensive so I have
been considering getting just the last two. That leaves a gap from
40mm-70mm. I suspect that I do not shoot much in that range anyway.
What do ya'll think?

Another option I am considering is to get the 24-105mm f/4L and some
variant of a 300mm lens. I already have a 200mm f/2.8L and I am trying
out the 300mm f/4L IS. So far, I have been pleased with it. The 300mm
f/2.8 L IS would be my first choice, but I would have to wait a while.
This option passes on the 70-200mm (this is one of those lenses I have
wanted for a long time, but now I am not sure it is the best choice). I
might still add the 17-40mm.

I am seeking opinions on this because I seem to have myself stuck in a
bit of a loop as I try to think through it. Any help is appreciated. I
should mention that my first love is landscape and nature photography,
but that I will also be doing some commercial and industrial work.
