I use an iBook in a Pelican case.  Really, you (and I) want a macBook
Pro with a 7200 rpm disk and 2GB of RAM.  Along with that, get a pair of
USB or firewire external hard drives and mirror them (either manually or
through the OS).

Of course, if you don't have that kind of money, Rob Galbraith ran a
story on the Giga Vu Pro some time back.

As for dust, stock up on supplies ahead of time, and test for dust
before every important picture, and after every lens change, and after
every downtime when the camrea wasn't being used.  The test I use is to
put the camera at a small aperture with manual focus turned on and take
a series of pictures with a bright background and a little camera
movement between each shot.  When I scroll through the images on the LCD
the dust specks tend to pop right out because they stay still.  The
image doesn't need to be in focus, and it often helps if it isn't.
