your could perhaps try to convert all now to the Adobe DNG format, as I
understand it, it will support the lossless storage of all the data
contained in the RAW formats.

I suspect that it'll transcend platforms, and while it may require
licencing, it'll be perhaps as persistant as Adobe is.
