I often get duplicates, but in the order of one duplicate for every
 10 messages.

I also see a lot of posts out of order; sometimes the initial post
will come a day after the replies, but very commonly a couple of
 hours.

My messages sometimes appear immediately, but more commonly an hour
or so after I post them and sometimes a lot later.

I'm on a number of other lists, and don't have problematic ISPs, but
this list is the only one with these delay problems.

Let's see how soon this shows up. It's 8:50am here.

Are all these other lists also hosted in Europe?....;))

You're right, Willem-Jan. Only one other is, but it is not as haphazard with respect to the timing.

Most of the lists I'm on are hosted in the US, and the highest volume one (Leica User's Group) is hosted in California by one of the most knowledgeable persons regarding internet matters that anyone could hope to find. That group has many members in Europe, Australia, Asia and has generally no lag.

I do appreciate your efforts to keep this list operational, so these comments are just put in to (possibly) help in tracking down any issues. The whole thing doesn't bother me too much. :-)

Also keep in mind that apparently there was a huge attack yesterday
on 3 of the 13 main worldwide Internet hubs, increasing the load on
the remaining ones.
