so much... could it be just because people are PAYING that for them? !

My thoughts entirely.
I guess most of these are aimed at the business community, or at the high
end home cinema market where cost isn't an issue. And, I don't understand
why they have to use these expensive lamps. Is it because the light
modulator is very lossy?
