On 3/3/07, Bob, discombobulated, unleashed:

>A friend is interested in a macro 1:1 lens. Other than the EF 100 and
>EF 180, has anyone had experience, good or bad, with others?

I have the MP-E 65mm

<http://www.tanchung.com/canon/efmpe65mmf28macro1to5.htm>

It's interesting in use - with a maximum mag of 5X but not advisable for
skittish insects - working distances can be described as (at best) cosy,
and (at worst) interference-fit. Best results when used in conjunction
with a ring flash (but not essential), and can give interesting results.
