EOS Questions

I'm looking to add two lens and need some feed back on them. 24 ~ 105 f4 L 
IS for Candids at weddings and photography of children. Then also the 28 ~ 
300 4/5.6 L IS. I was thinking of updating my 70-200 (non IS and is used 
mostly for portrait work) with the IS version, but I hear lots of good 
things about the 28 ~ 300 and if it is as good it would have more usage.
