Subject: EOS XTi or wait?

<snip>

So, wait, get an XTi( and to 40 comes out following
week). I know it's personal preference but any
thoughts would be appreciated.  Aaargh!

I'll jump in here! After using a 10D for ~3 years, I bought a 5D soon after its introduction, and have been very happy with it. (Yes, I can make it vignette if I try!)

Then I bought an old EF 300 f2.8L for bird photos. Last February I bought a 30D and that spends most of its time behind my 300 f2.8L (with extenders, most likely!), on a decent tripod and gimbal head. Apart from its 5fps (and built-in flash), there's very little difference that I've noticed between my two current bodies. I've had super photos from all 3 EOS DSLRs in their different fields, and in my case, dust hasn't been much of an issue.

At least I spend time snapping away rather, than worrying about the future which only Canon know about!
