Subject: EOS RBP511/512 batteries
The time has come for me to replace my batteries for my 10D. Is
there anything I should be aware of with generic batteries from
ebay? or does anyone have a good source for batteries?
thanks
Steve
When enquiring about purchasing a 5D, I was warned off the own brand
batteries sold by Jessops in the UK, and that was by a Jessops
employee. (He said they were OK in other bodies, but got stuck in a
5D.)

I use generics bought locally here in Vancouver (imported from China)
for about $15, and they work very well in various Canons, including
the 5D. I certainly wouldn't buy Canon's batteries at $70 a pop in a
camera shop.
I've bought maybe 10 over the years, and all have been good. I still
have two good ones from D60 days, while the original Canon ones I
bought (two) are long dead.
