It's a shame you feel that way Peter. I believe Austin genuinely doesn't understand what you mean, and (also genuinely) would like you to clarify. I don't believe he is trying to take you down a peg or anything like that. This is a discussion list, the point is to discuss photography so that others can benefit. I am in the same boat as Austin in that I don't quite understand what you mean by your original statements, and would appreciate any clarification you could offer. As such, I don't think this is a "pointless" topic, and I for one would be thankful if you would continue.
