Like Bill, I've used LOTS of generics from when I started with a D60 till
now with a 40D, all from eBay. I had ONE battery that didn't fit well when I
went from the 10D to the 20D, other than that all the generics have had
higher capacity and performed as well as or better than the Canon brand. I
know a lot of people recommend Sterling-Tek, but I've had no problems with
the cheaper generics.

Would you only put Sony batteries in your Walkman?

Subject: Re: EOS BP511 and BP511a?

I use some BP511 compatible batteries that I got from somebody on eBay
along with a 110v/12v charter. They work fine in my 20D and worked fine
in my 10D. 3 batteries plus the charger cost less than 1 Canon battery.
